On behalf of the organizing committee, we have the honor to invite you to take part in the Twelfth International Conference e-Society.Mk which this year addresses the topic of Fact-Checking and Influence of New Technologies on Journalism. The conference will take place on January 31, 2017 in the “Holiday Inn” hotel in Skopje, Macedonia.
Organized within the framework of USAID Project for Strengthening the Media in Macedonia, Media Fact-Checking Service component implemented by Metamorphosis, the conference will gather representatives of institutions and organizations working on development in this area, and enable them to network and share experiences of dealing with media manipulations in order to increase the quality and accountability of media production through promotion of journalistic standards and increased citizen engagement.
The conference will provide a platform for domestic and international experts to address the worrisome global trend of media manipulations: populist propaganda, fake news, originating in traditional media with amplification through social media; and indicate possible solutions.
The event will be open to the public and you can freely share this invitation with interested representatives of other institutions and organizations.
