Students that attended the lecture were presented with various issues related to e-waste management, how technology affects the environment, what they can do to reduce and prevent the creation of waste generated by technology development and how cloud-computing helps for environment preservation and improves the functioning of society.
The lecture was motivated by the recent entry into force of the Law on management of electrical and electronic equipment, aiming to inform students about their obligations for proper treatment of e-waste. Additionally, students had the opportunity to learn about all the “green” practices that they can apply when planning and creating future (information) systems.
