On July 25, 2014, the Directorate for Personal Data Protection and the Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. This memorandum confirms the excellent continuous cooperation and the common interest of the organizations for educating and informing citizens, particularly the young population, on the topic of privacy, personal data protection and other related areas.

The purpose of this Memorandum is to determine the joint activities related to the project “Privacy Class”, which is to be implemented in the secondary schools in the city of Skopje.

“Raising awareness about the safe use of the Internet, creating a society and a culture of respect for privacy and personal data protection, these are our common goals”, say the representatives of both organizations.

In the upcoming period we will be implementing joint activities to raise the level of awareness of several target groups in the educational process, such as students, parents and teachers; about the need for compliance with the regulations for personal data protection, including content for confidentiality of communications and letters, hate speech, behavior on social networks, etc.

Given that both institutions are aiming to improve the quality of living through the dissemination of knowledge and education about the aforementioned topics, the signing of this memorandum provides added value towards the creation of a democratic society free from violations of the right to privacy.
