The training provided an opportunity for presenting the good practices and models for transparency of the allocation and spending of the municipal budget, that could be implemented by the municipalities in the Republic of Macedonia. During the training, the web service “Follow the money” (www.sledigiparite.mk) was also presented, as a service that can be used by the municipalities. This web service aims to familiarize the citizens with the fiscal policy of the local self-governments in Macedonia through a simple and transparent presentation of the revenues and expenditures of municipalities since 2008.
The training was attended by three representatives of 11 municipalities: the person responsible for the budget of the municipality, the person in charge of public relations and the web administrator of the municipal website.
