Metamorphosis Foundation representatives Mr. Bardhyl Jashari and Mr. Filip Stojanovski participated in the meeting as the project leader for the Balkan e-Waste Management Advocacy Network – BEWMAN, and were joined by Mr. Stephen Campbell, representative of the project partner Computer Aid International from UK.
The meeting provided networking opportunities between the Civil Society Organizations participating in the CSF Partnership Actions under the IPA 128287 Call, and also provided various communication channels related to the implementation with the relevant authorities.
During the first day of the meeting Mr. Yngve Engström, head of unit DG Enlargement, Regional Programmes provided an overview of the EU pre-accession aid, aimed at helping organizations in the region fulfill their missions at local and regional level, stressing that in the future the focus will be on addressing the actual needs of the organizations and stimulation of networking.
Subsequently, Mr. Henk Visser, the task manager for the Partnership Actions, provided an overview of the background and aim of the call, information on project management and administration/financial management. He then facilitated Q&A session and presentations of the 15 projects.
During the second day the hosts organized meetings per specialty (Occupation Safety and Health, Environment and Energy Efficiency) with relevant EC officials and sector organizations in the EU Directorate-General on Environment. These meetings provided opportunities for contact and discussion with the desk officers assigned to oversee the progress in the area of environment in the particular candidate countries, providing additional ways for the CSOs to contribute to the overall process of integration into the EU.
