The Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society within the framework of the project “Human Rights Protection in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,” is implementing several activities, namely research into the effect of new technologies, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, on human rights, development of ethical standards for the development and application of artificial intelligence, and training for representatives of civil society organizations on topics from the aforementioned areas.

The main objective of the project is to assess the impact of new technologies, with a particular focus on the development and use of artificial intelligence, on human rights. In a broader sense, to contribute to the protection of human rights in policies related to artificial intelligence through further advocacy and capacity building of target groups, but also through the implementation of public awareness-raising activities.

Civil society organizations are recognized as key actors in the area of advocacy, support, and capacity development of specific target groups and raising awareness about the benefits and risks of using new technologies and their impact on human rights. As part of the project, an analysis of the needs of civil society organizations for training on the impact of artificial intelligence on the realization of digital rights was conducted with the aim of creating appropriate training content.

Therefore, the Metamorphosis Foundation is planning three one-day trainings on the topic “The Impact of New Technologies on the Realization of Digital Rights” for representatives of civil society organizations, especially those working with marginalized groups. The trainings are planned to be held in Skopje on February 12, February 23, and early March 2024. The training agenda is available here.

The aim of the training is to enable representatives of civil society organizations to advance their knowledge about the impact of new technologies on human rights online and to strengthen their competences in sharing their concerns with decision-makers, as well as to educate their target groups about the potential risks to their human rights online posed by new technologies.

The registration form for the first two trainings is available at the following link.

Registration for participants is until Wednesday, February 7, 4:00 PM.

For participants coming from outside Skopje, travel expenses will be covered in the amount of a return bus ticket with mandatory submission of the original travel documentation, namely a bus or train ticket with a fiscal receipt or a fiscal receipt for fuel and tolls (if there are tolls on that route). The submitted travel documentation must be dated on the event itself or a maximum of one day before. Travel documentation dated several days before/after the event will not be recognized.

The activities are part of the project “Human Rights Protection in the Age of Artificial Intelligence” implemented by the Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society, with financial support from the American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative (ABA ROLI).
