The Code4MK event that took place on 17 October 2016 in Bitola, on 18 October 2016 in Tetovo and on 19 October 2016 in Kichevo, had the goal to observe the EU Code Week and to bring technology closer to the students, i.e. to be able to practically implement what they have learned so far. This event was organized by the Metamorphosis Foundation, supported by Google. dsc_7725The students had the opportunity to create a website and to code in a step by step manner. dsc_7734In Bitola, the students from SOU Josip Broz Tito, learned that you don’t have to be an ICT professional in order to create a website. dsc_7764We managed to reach to 55 students in this school, who showed interest in the competitions for creation of websites and apps. dsc_7758Furthermore, in Tetovo, we visited SSOU Mosha Pijade, where we had the opportunity to introduce the students with the basics of coding and the website creation process. dsc_7935We also met students who weren’t interested in learning something more about ICT, but at the end, we managed to make them more interested and to strengthen their knowledge. dsc_7963 Here, we trained 70 students. dsc_8000Whereas in Kichevo, at OSU Drita, we were welcomed by students with whom we exchanged experience and we also inspired them to continue to develop their knowledge in the ICT area. dsc_8178One of the attendees pointed out that although he wants to become a doctor, he has to be “ICT literate” because the information technology is the future of every profession. Here, we reached 40 students who are now motivated to continue to enhance their knowledge and to take part in competitions for creation of web and mobile apps. dsc_8215That’s why the Metamorphosis Foundation, in cooperation with the South Eastern European University professors, will soon organize a hackathon and will allow the attendees of Code4MK to fulfill their dream which is to compete in creating mobile apps and finding a solution to a specific social problem. dsc_8208The Metamorphosis Foundation is continuously assisting the youth in order to enhance its knowledge and skills in the ICT area via training sessions, events, seminars, webinars and competitions where young people can present their knowledge. Finally, the Code4MK attendees will be able to take part in future events that will be organized by the Metamorphosis Foundation.
