Metamorphosis Foundation strongly condemns and qualifies as lies and defamations and completely disproves the statements of the representatives of the three-man group “Stop Operation Soros” (SOS), stated in the press conference on 4 February 2017.
The press conference saw the presentation of lies about Metamorphosis, including incorrect accusations that the Foundation has been receiving “millions” that allegedly have been used for party activities and goals of SDSM.
We strongly reject such defamations and insults. Metamorphosis’ assets have never been and will never be used for activities of any political party. These constructions and manipulations aim to defocus the public from the real problems and to debase the reputation of Metamorphosis and the entire nongovernmental sector that is not under the control of the ruling party.
On the contrary, as opposed to principles of working of the nongovernmental sector as nonpartisan corrective of any government, the three-man group represented as nongovernmental organization or nongovernmental initiative labelled “Stop Operation Soros” publicly works on the agenda of one political party for fight against the independent and progressive part of the civil society sector. One of the speakers of that group has been employed by a state news agency, after he stopped working as PR advisor of the President of RM, who got the first position as VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate.
Metamorphosis Foundation exists from 2004 as an independent nonpartisan subject, and since then, it has been working on building information society and strengthening of citizens’ position in society regardless of the party in power. Neither Metamorphosis Foundation, nor the donors we cooperate with, do not finance nor implement projects based on party or ideological orientations. All of our activities and financial reports are available to the public.
We strongly reject the qualification that we are organization that works upon somebody’s order. Because of the severe lies, defamations and attempt for debasing the reputation of Metamorphosis and its employees, we request public apology from the representatives of the SOS group. If not, we are going to file a lawsuit for insult and defamation.
We request from the media that published the defamations, to publish this disproof on the same place and with the same length of time as the stated misinformation. The media which shall not comply with this constitutional and lawful obligation will be considered as accomplices in the campaign against the nongovernmental sector and there will be lawsuits against them as well.
