As part of the USAID Civic Engagement Project, the Metamorphosis Foundation organized three open data hackathons. The winning solution of the third open data hackathon is finalized and ready for use at www.najdiapteka.mk.

The application is implemented as a map where pharmacies and health facilities that offer certain products or services can be located. When clicking on one of the located objects, data about the object appears. The user can use filters when searching, but also type in the means of transport they will use to reach the location and the price of fuel will be calculated in the final amount.

The app provides search results sorted from cheapest to most expensive. The user can register an account and log in, which will allow them to maintain a list of favourite products. This list can be viewed by clicking on the “Favorites” button.

The web application for mapping pharmacies and comparing their prices is available in Macedonian and Albanian.

The third edition of the Open Data Hackathon was organized by the Foundation for Internet and Society Metamorphosis within the framework of the USAID Civic Engagement Project, in the period from 24-27 March 2022, in Skopje. The goal of the hackathon was to develop a web/mobile application that would enable visualization, interactive display and/or facilitation/digitalization of the processes for filling and updating data from databases published by state administration bodies. The open data hackathon was attended by 5 teams made up of students and startup companies.
