Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society organized the Microsoft Day which was dedicated to the civil sector on the topic “Cloud technology supports societies”. This event took place today at the Skopje Fair Congress Center.

At the event’s opening, Metamorphosis’ Executive Director, Bardhyl Jashari, emphasized that the technology and implementation of new software solutions should help the nongovernmental organizations to organize their missions and activities more efficiently. 34654198006_ee0d2ab87f_k“Technology is changing rapidly, nongovernmental organizations should be up to date with the latest technological software and platforms and also to exchange knowledge about the challenges in their everyday work”, Jashari said. 1

He also added that local organizations cooperate on national and international level and the geographical borders between sectors are nonexistent thanks to the cloud technology. Organizations seek ways of networking, cooperation and use of new technology in order to better cater to the community they operate in.

Microsoft’s Senior Education Business Development Manager in Albania, Kosovo and Macedonia, Vlora Ademi, pointed out that this is fourth conference of its kind in Macedonia and such conferences are of great interest to nongovernmental organizations.

“The nongovernmental sector is the main supporter of a great deal of conditions in the society and it has its own mission. The work is challenging and technology allows them to implement their mission more easily”, Ademi added. 2

This conference also saw the presentation of Aleksandar Vasilevski from Citizen Association for Support of Persons with Disabilities – SOLEM.

During the presentation, he showed that Microsoft tools and technology are not made just for the benefit of IT professionals in the nongovernmental organizations, but they can be used by individuals with intellectual disabilities as well. Aleksandar thanks to the donations received from TechSoup Balkans is a trainer and does his presentations without any difficulty.3

Further, representatives of the civil sector had to opportunity to learn more on how to receive software donations and $5000 donation of Microsoft Azure for support of the civil sector, which in Macedonia and the Balkans is implemented by Metamorphosis Foundation via the Теchsoup Balkans platform.

Metamorphosis Foundation helps all organizations, which usually work on solving social issues, in the implementation of technological solutions so they can easily use all donated tools with the aim to improve the quality of life.
