We invite you to be part of the Project-based education program: “Media Literacy Online” which will be held in the period of 30 November to 18 December 2020. As part of the program, 4 training sessions are planned on the following dates: 30 November, 4, 11, and 18 December, from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm.
The training aims to encourage the participants:
- To understand the importance of the role and functions of media in democratic societies
- To critically evaluate media content in the light of the media function, examining local social media for disinformation tactics and polarizing content, valuing emotion over facts
- To create messaging to counter disinformation, understand the importance of engagement with media for self-expression and democratic participation, identify propaganda and disinformation, fake news and harmful media
The education program will provide the participants with the opportunity to prepare and propose Local Action Plans aiming to serve toward increasing the resilience of communities to disinformation. Metamorphosis Foundation will provide modest financial support and will oversee the implementation of the best Local Action Plans.
The program will be implemented by Dren Gërguri, a lecturer at the Department of Journalism at the University of Prishtina “Hasan Prishtina”, a journalist, a certified trainer of the TechSoup Association, as well as an editor at the European Journalism Observatory, and fake news expert at the NGO EduMedia in Kosovo.
Note: The working language of the Project-based education program is English and is open for all interested candidates from North Macedonia and Kosovo.
