The informal meeting of civil society organizations, journalists and citizens interested about the importance of open data and the opportunities for cooperation will be held on November 10 (Tuesday) starting at 17:30h at the premises of Coffice.

The Metamorphosis Foundation and the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network (BIRN) are organizing an informal meeting for civil society organizations, journalists and interested citizens, providing them with an opportunity to discuss the importance of open data and the opportunities for cooperation related to these issues between the civil society sector, citizens and the media.

The event will include a discussion about the public interest for having as much open data as possible in Macedonia, and about the potential and the existing initiatives for connecting civil society organizations and the media when it comes to these issues. Participants will have an opportunity to learn more about the “Skopje 2014 under scrutiny” database, which includes information for more than 130 buildings built under the government project “Skopje 2014”; information obtained through the access to public information, making this database available for future use.

The event will take place on November 10 (Tuesday) starting at 17:30 at the premises of Coffice.

We invite all interested citizens, representatives of the civil society sector and journalists to confirm their participation at the event by registering at the following addresses: dona@metamorphosis.org.mk and riste.zmejkoski@birn.eu.com.

The meeting is organized within the framework of the “Open Data Civil Society Network” project supported by the British Embassy in Macedonia and implemented by the Metamorphosis Foundation in partnership with the Open Knowledge Foundation and the Project for Investigative Journalism and Cooperation Between Media and Civil Society implemented by BIRN as part of USAID’s Program for Strengthening Independent Media in Macedonia.
