To: Mr. Afrim Gashi,

President of the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia

Subject: Reaction to the absence of a consultative process for amending the systemic Law on the Organization and Work of State Administration Bodies

The Platform of Civil Society Organizations in the Fight against Corruption responds to the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia for the closed and non-consultative process with stakeholders on the Draft Law on Amending and Supplementing the Law on the Organization and Work of State Administration Bodies.

Also, the establishment of three new ministries and the reorganization of the state administration system without prior in-depth analysis of the justification of the proposal is unacceptable to the Platform of Civil Society Organizations in the Fight against Corruption.

We point out that this negatively affects the cooperation and trust of civil society with public policy makers.

With this reaction, the Platform remains consistent with its previous statement from 2022 that the reorganization of the state administration is an extremely important process, which must be based on the principles of transparency, inclusion, and prior preparation of citizens for the systemic changes that are being initiated.

With due respect,

Platform of Civil Society Organizations in the Fight against Corruption
