Are the state institutions in the Republic of Macedonia using the potential of the new technologies to include the citizens in the decision-making processes? This is the subject of the public policy paper to be presented by the Metamorphosis Foundation at the conference taking place on June 17, 2014 (Tuesday) at 11.00am at the EU InfoCentre in Skopje.

The aim of the public policy paper “Increasing the use of gov.mk websites as tools for transparency, accountability and e-participation” is to examine the current level of use of new technologies by the central and local authorities in the Republic of Macedonia (.gov.mk) i.e. the opportunities offered for citizens to consult with or impact the work of the state institutions via the internet.

Ms. Tanja Hafner Ademi, executive director of the Balkan Civil Society Development Network (BCSDN) will be speaking at the conference, presenting the project and cooperation as a representative of the donor agencies, along with Mr. Bardhyl Jashari, the director of Metamorphosis and the project coordinator Ms. Tamara Resavska who will familiarize the attendees with the research methodology and findings, and the conclusions and recommendations aimed at exploiting the full potential of the new technologies in these areas.

The public policy paper is part of the international collaboration supported by the Slovak-Balkan Public Policy Fund, implemented by the Balkan Civil Society Development Network and the Pontis Foundation from Slovakia.
