The Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MISA) in cooperation with the Metamorphosis Foundation for Internet and Society, and within the USAID Civic Engagement Project, is implementing activities for harmonization of the Law on Public Sector Data Use with the EU Directive on open data and the re-use of public sector information (2019/1024). As part of these activities, on 26 October 2021, in the Parliamentary Club, the second meeting of the working group for harmonization of the Law on Public Sector Data Use with the EU Directive (2019/1024) was held.

The working group is composed of fifteen representatives of state institutions, civil society and media, and will make a significant contribution to the preparation of the regulatory impact assessment of the implementation of the current law (ex-post evaluation), regulatory impact assessment of the new legal solution and preparation of the new draft law.

At the meeting, Irena Bojadzievska presented the first draft analysis of the EU Directive on open data and the re-use of public sector information from 20 June 2019 (2019/1024). The main topic of discussion was the domestic context in the direction of implementing the procedures and standards of the European Directive. Questions and dilemmas were raised as to how to measure the effectiveness of the new legal solution and how to assess the practical contribution.

The activities will be realized in the next three months and in addition to meetings with the working group, interviews and meetings with individuals and interest groups will be realized.
