From May 15 to 17, the first workshop on “Prebunking” in North Macedonia was held in Ohrid, where a dozen young participants were introduced to different types of preventive strategies for preventing the spread of disinformation.
This workshop was intended for young students, journalists, members of the civil society, activists or enthusiasts.
This is the last of three trainings within this year’s “Journalism for a New Generation” program, which the Metamorphosis Foundation is implementing in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and with support from the US Embassy in North Macedonia.
The best six participants from the three workshops will have the opportunity for a one-month paid internship in one of the media outlets of the Metamorphosis Foundation, namely Meta.mk, Portalb.mk or Truthmeter.mk.
Additionally, the three best interns will go on a week-long study visit to Washington, USA.
The workshop trainers were Celeste Sepessy from the USA, Assistant Professor at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication, Vladimir Petreski, Editor of “Truthmeter.mk,” and Despina Kovachevska, Media Monitoring Specialist at the Metamorphosis Foundation.
The event is part of the “Journalism for a New Generation” project, which the Metamorphosis Foundation is implementing in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), and with the support of the US Embassy in Skopje, in the period from September 2023 to July 2024.
