The call is open until March 1st for all interested young students, journalists, members of the civil society, activists or enthusiasts to apply to the three-day workshop on Fact Checking and Other Means for Combating Disinformation, organized by the Metamorphosis Foundation in partnership with the International Center for Journalists.
The top six participants in the series of three workshops, one of which has already taken place, will have the opportunity for a one-month paid internship at one of the three media organizations of the Metamorphosis Foundation (Truthmeter.mk, Meta.mk and Portalb.mk), during the next summer. The top three, in turn, will go on a one-week study visit to the United States with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) in Washington.
The trainers at the workshop, which will be held in English, will be eminent journalists from the United States, as well as journalists from the Metamorphosis Foundation.
The training will be held in Veles from March 13 to 15, and participants will have the opportunity to learn from the best fact-checkers how to recognize and debunk disinformation and fake news, and through practical work to learn the methods of fact-checking. This is of exceptional importance considering that we live in a time when we are witnessing an increasing number of false information and disinformation in everyday life, something that can lead to serious social, but also global consequences.
Anyone interested in the training can register by filling out the form at this link.
The event is part of the “Journalism for a New Generation” project, which the Metamorphosis Foundation is implementing in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), and with the support of the US Embassy in Skopje, in the period from September 2023 to July 2024.
