The trainers are eminent journalists from the United States along with representatives of the Metamorphosis Foundation. The best participants will receive an offer for a paid internship, and some of them will also receive the opportunity for a week-long study visit to the United States.
We invite all young students, journalists, members of the civil society, activists or enthusiasts to apply for two three-day workshops on journalism related to exposing disinformation.
The first training will be held from March 13 to 15 in Veles and will be about fact-checking and debunking disinformation. The second training will be held in Ohrid from May 13 to 15 and the main topic will be “prebunking”, i.e. various preventive strategies for preventing the spread of disinformation.
You can register for the first training at the following link, and for the second training you can register here.
The workshop trainers include journalists from the United States, as well as journalists from the Metamorphosis Foundation. Both trainings will be held in English.
The top six participants from both workshops, as well as from the previous workshop held in Skopje in December, will have the opportunity for a one-month paid internship in one of the Metamorphosis Foundation media outlets, namely Meta.mk, Portalb.mk or Truthmeter.mk. Additionally, the three best interns will go on a one-week study visit to the United States with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) in Washington.
The event is part of the “Journalism for a New Generation” project, which the Metamorphosis Foundation is implementing in partnership with the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ), and with the support of the US Embassy in Skopje, in the period from September 2023 to July 2024.
