The promotion of the ICT Guide No.6 of Metamorphosis ‘How to make a privacy policy’ was held on March 30, 2011 in the State Institutions Club in Skopje. The guide was prepared in cooperation with the Directorate for Personal Data Protection, within the framework of the Online Privacy Initiative project supported by the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia.

Report: Functionality of the municipal web sites as tools for publishing information

An analysis of the functionality of websites of the local self-government units was carried out in the Draft-report: Functionality of the municipal web sites as tools for publishing information, published on October 26, 2010. The analysis was performed as a result of the question posed by the Member of Parliament Mr. Vasko Shutarov during the supervisory hearing on the Law on free access to public information held in the Assembly of R.M. on December 21, 2010.

Report on the use of computers in the educational system of the Republic of Macedonia

In June 2010, the Metamorphosis Foundation published the report “The use of computers in the educational system of the Republic of Macedonia”. The report was prepared by Ipsos Strategic Puls as a result of the research conducted in the period between May 19-30, 2010 covering several topics related to sources of information, use of computers and the internet in households and schools, as well as the level of awareness and positions of the public about the project ‘Computer for Every Child’. The data was collected via a telephone survey of the households of respondents from 10 to 65 years of age.

Guide for accessibility options in Edubuntu published

The guide – “How to make your computer easier to use – accessibility options in Edubuntu LINUX” was published by the Metamorphosis Foundation, in collaboration with Open the Windows and Free Software Macedonia. The Guide is published within the frames of the project “People with disabilities are active citizens” Authors Angel Angov and Radmila Stojkovska Aleksova describe the accessibility options in Edubuntu LINUX, enabling persons with disabilities (eg. Visual impairments, motor impairments, intellectual disability) to use this operating system. The guide is printed in 1.000 copies and is primarily designed to support access to computers to students with disabilities in regular schools. Analysis of domains and privacy policies of the Macedonian websites reviewed by “Website of the Day” blog

The analysis of the presence of privacy policies at the reviewed Macedonian websites for the period April 2008 to February 2010, published by the Metamorphosis Foundation in the „Website of the day“ column in the daily newspaper Vreme“, is indicating that only a few of them have a privacy policy.

Preliminary analysis of individual candidates’ websites for the 2009 elections (version 0.5)

The first phase of the analysis conducted by the Metamorphosis Foundation indicates that 93% of the candidates for mayors are not using the internet for promotion, and most of the ones that are actually using it, are using just a fraction of its potential for communicating with the citizens. Almost all the presidential candidates have a website, but the only female presidential candidate does not have her own website, and is instead promoted through the website of her political party.
