How can the young be motivated? How can they be promoted in the world? How should they organize themselves and who can help them in the “construction” of their portals, blogs and websites?

Examples of successful youth projects and what could be learnt from
them? Discussions about the philosophy behind Web 2.0. All these issues
were discussed at the conference “IT society and its influence on youth
media” organized by the Forum for European Journalism Students
Macedonia which was held in the hotel “Stonebridge” in Skopje on
September 12 and 13.

Young people from various countries, people from Poland, Kosovo,
Bosnia, Serbia, Romania, Italy… had a chance to exchange experiences
and get familiar with various work methods. Although they belonged to
different cultures with a different language, all of them were speaking
English, demonstrating the main globalization idea.

“Many different truths” said Giovanni Angioni while he was speaking
about the influence of Cafebabel magazine on the young. The conference
was an opportunity for sharing experiences and making new friends,
although these “friends” are actually business contacts that would
offer additional ideas and further cooperation. The end result is the
look of the CV (the work portfolio, or sometimes the Facebook profile)
which would lead to greater engagements.

This aspect of building a career is of crucial importance for the
young. After all, it is not only this piece of paper that will lead to
better work or better projects. The ideas and methods for completing
the work are just as important. Various projects were presented during
these two days, some of which were bigger and more successful, but they
are all exploring what can be done with the new technology – projects
such as GlobalVoices, Infostud.com, Youthmedia watchdogs etc. were
presented.
