Since 2018, TechSoup Network’s Digital Activism Program aims to provide multi-faceted support to civil society organizations (CSOs) and their staff in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), Latin America and West Africa. In the area of countering disinformation, the program strives to increase their understanding of the issues connected with direct disinformation threats through research, strengthen their capacity to deal with disinformation, boost their knowledge and connections within the nonprofit network.
In the focus of the Digital Activism Program are CSOs, frontline workers, and activists working with the vulnerable communities that are the most frequent targets of propaganda. The program focuses, but is not limited to, the following areas of CSOs’ work: supporting democracy, migration, climate, women’s, and LGBTQ+ rights. In the span of the Digital Activism Program activities in CEE, the CSOs are provided with bespoke training and workshops, individual consultations, community events, small grants, and access to tech solutions or tools which will help them design effective disinformation response campaigns.
The Metamorphosis Foundation has a long and fruitful cooperation with TechSoup. As part of the Accelerator, in the period 2024 – 2025, 18 small and collaborative grants were awarded and administrated by Metamorphosis Foundation.
In Kosovo, we have supported Open Data Kosovo, Sbunker and Hibrid with small action grants. BIRN Kosovo and Kosovar Center for Security Studies (KCSS), were awarded with collaborative grant.
In Serbia, we have supported Partners Serbia, Europolis, IJAS, Catalyst Balkans and SINHRO with small action grants. Catalyst Balkans, Partners Serbia, Independent Journalists’ Association of Serbia (IJAS) and Center for Democratic Development Europolis, were awarded with collaborative grant.
In North Macedonia, we have supported Contemporary Art Center, HERA, Inkluziva, Kanal 77 and Star Star. Kanal 77, Contemporary Art Center and Centre for Investigative Journalism SCOOP Macedonia, were awarded with collaborative grant.
