The Macedonian-Estonian ICT conference was held on June 2 in the Holiday Inn hotel in Skopje, organized by the Minister without portfolio in charge of information society – Ivo Ivanovski, during which the Estonian representatives from the ICT industry presented their companies.

The conference was opened with the speeches of Minister Ivanovski, the foreign investments minister Gligor Tashkovic and the Estonian Member of Parliament Hanes Astok.

They outlined the following in their speeches:

This Government has projected an enormous number of projects for information society development in order to attract much more foreign investors for opening new jobs and economic development in Macedonia – Ivo Ivanovski.

Macedonia is developing fast and is investing a lot in the IT sector’s human resoures, therefore I believe that the Estonian companies perceive Macedonia as a developing market – said Hanes Astok.

More than 20 macedonian companies had their own representatives at the conference which was a great opportunity for networking and potential cooperation with the Estonian colleagues. Presentations were made for the following Estonian companies: Datel, Mandator, Santa Monica Networks, Microlink, Eesti Ehitusbors, Telegrupp and ITL.

One of the several Estonian panelists was prevented from attending, so his time was used by Macedonian companies ( Infinite Solutions, Pexim, IWM Network, Seavus, Nov Ekspo and Art Ulica 26.) for presenting themselves and their activities.

Following the presentations and the lunch break, there was an opportunity for holding B2B meetings. At the request of the guests, the director of the Agency for Foreign Investments – Viktor Mizo was also invited, in order to explain the favorable investment climate in Macedonia as well as the process for registering a company in the country.

The official visit of the Estonian ICT-representatives is from June 1 to June 3, and during this visit they had the opportunity to visit Shtip for a dinner organized by the Honorable Macedonian consul in Estonia, Sashko Miladinov.
