MAIN GOAL OF THE PROJECT:

Advancing digital rights standards in the Western Balkan region and contributing to its successful integration into the Digital Single Market.

EXPECTED RESULTS:

– Develop and utilize joint advocacy strategy for adequate alignment and protection of human rights in digital context, focusing on multi-stakeholder approach.

– Increase capacities of civil society, media organizations and relevant state actors in WB6 for engaging in digital rights-related regulatory processes and monitoring the implementation of relevant legislation.

– Raise awareness and foster dialogue and exchange among public, private, and civil society actors on digital rights issues, focusing on impact of DSA and DMA to digital rights in WB6.

PROJECT ACTIVITIES:

– Research related to implementation of DSA in WB6 and monitoring of the current developments and implementation of DSA and DMA in the EU.

– Strategic advocacy workshop of project partners to exchange ideas on project implementation and design a joint advocacy approach geared towards citizens, state and non-state sectors.

– Workshop for national CSOs, media organizations, fact checkers and activists to address the countries’ specifics and tailor the advocacy approach to the local context.

– Meeting with national stakeholders to present the project goals and activities, highlight the importance of adequate implementation of DSA and DMA in WB6 countries, and the advantages of the multi-stakeholder approach.

– Training for CSOs and media organizations for participation in regulatory processes and monitoring.

– Capacity building workshop and/or briefing on DSA and DMA for relevant institutions.

– Session on DSA within organizations annual public event.

– Organizing public campaign and outreach to promote project activities, widen advocacy efforts and additionally raise awareness on importance of protection of human rights in the digital world.
