The Effect of Disinformation and Foreign Influences on Democratic Processes in North Macedonia in 2025

Digitalization and digital technologies are drastically changing the way we live, work and interact with the world around us. This is especially true in the area of public services, where digital government services (e-government services) are increasingly replacing traditional paper-based services. The transition to e-government services, and more specifically the shift from e-government to so-called digital government services at the central and/or local level, is driven by the process of digital transformation, i.e., the transformation of organizations and institutions, including their business models, processes, ideas, and methodologies. This digital transformation is enabled by the development and use of new digital technologies and devices for the creation, collection, processing, analysis, and use of huge amounts of data, such as mobile digital devices, the Internet of Things (IoT), cloud computing and, above all, Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms. The ultimate goal is the full digitalization of public services for their full accessibility to all, and for everyone to benefit from the best digital environment, which provides easy-to-use, efficient and personalized digital services and tools with high standards of security and privacy.
