The 4th Communia Workshop will take place in Zurich at the Swiss
Federal Institute of Technology (ETH) on Friday the 23rd of January
2009, and a special event organized by Creative Commons will take place in the Walchetum gallery.
The Workshop is dedicated to discussing the 1st year review of the Communia project and planning our future actions. In both plenary and parallel sessions, we will also work on the Working Group projects and initiatives – including but not limited to: map the public domain, write a new mission statement for Communia, formulate specific policy statements, organize public domain day, etc.
Following the Communia workshop, Creative Commons Switzerland is organizing the "Creative Commons Showcases – Movies, Design and Music under free licenses". During the presentation, the attendants will be able to explore why these licenses are important and what possibilities they offer. Some of the most successful European projects will be presented. Creative Commons provides free tools that let authors, scientists, artists, and educators easily mark their creative work with the freedoms they want it to carry. You can use CC to change your copyright terms from "All Rights Reserved" to "Some Rights Reserved."
The Metamorphosis Foundation is a Macedonian representative in the COMMUNIA network, working on the promotion of the Public Domain.
The Creative Commons licenses are adapted to the legal system of each country; they are present with a localized edition in Macedonia since 2007, thanks to the Metamorphosis Foundation.
