What’s a digital repository?

Digital repositories enable management, storage and access to digital content. They can have many forms, and all kinds of websites and databases could be considered to be repositories. Institutional repositories are the main focus of the website, and the tool reflects the current best practices in the community of institutional (open access) repositories.

The advantages of depositing works in open access digital repositories are numerous: greater visibility of research results, increased influence of the publications, the ability to measure the usage of the papers, local and global access to the content, establishing collaborations, financial savings and so on.
