As part of the USAID Civic Engagement Project, the Metamorphosis Foundation conducted two-day, online training to promote transparency and open data of local government units. The trainings were held on January 17 and 18, 2022, and were attended by 34 representatives from 20 municipalities, representatives of 8 civil society organizations, open data facilitators and others.

The trainings aimed to increase the theoretical knowledge about transparency and openness, but also through concrete proposals for using tools for transparency, and discussion for sharing good practices, to enable the municipalities to act proactively in the field of openness.

During the two-day training, the participants had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge about using the tools for openness and transparency, to involve citizens in the decision-making process, to get acquainted with the concept of an open city, to gain knowledge about the concept and benefits of open data, as well as with practical knowledge of the process of publishing open data sets.

Within the USAID Civic Engagement Project, the Metamorphosis Foundation in the coming period will provide direct support to municipalities in order to promote their openness.
