BEWMAN (Balkan e-Waste Management Advocacy Network) is a partnership action supported by the Civil Society Facility of the EU Directorate-General on Enlargement through the IPA 128287 grant scheme.

The 2-year project involves research, capacity building and creation of networks regarding the issue of e-waste in the Balkans, based on EU-regulation and experiences from the fields of e-waste recycling, reuse and advocacy. On the basis of generated knowledge, the Balkan partners will organize national networks of at least 10 CSOs or other entities to spread awareness and influence policymaking on local and national levels.

Apart from discussion on project activities, administrative and financial procedures, the event participants also visited the Delegation of the European Union in Skopje, where they were received by the Ms. Irena Ivanova, Civil Society Task Manager, and Ms. Sunchica Sazdovska, Resident Advisor of the regional project TACSO – Technical Assistance to Civil Society Organisations who provided more information about relevant issues, including the regional context of IPA program and opportunities for support and guidance of CSOs implementing EU-funded projects within their countries.
