openoffice.gifThe International Organization for Standardization (the ISO) has approved OASIS Open Document Format (ODF) as a standard file format to be used worldwide for the storage of files produced by office software. To be more precise, its current status is 40.60, but the fact that application was approved with all votes in favour means that the next phase is 40.99 and its final adoption as a standard is just the matter of time.

This is very important for the wide acceptance of ODF and OpenOffice.org which is based on the ODF from the governments of the EU countries.

OpenOffice.org is available in Macedonian and can be downloaded here.
