On October 18, at 2:30 PM, at the GEM club in Skopje, the Metamorphosis Foundation, in cooperation with the Embassy of the United States of America, is organizing a public discussion with eminent American journalists on “Can the social media influence the US elections?”.

This event will begin with short presentation by the multiple award-winning journalists from the USA, Barbara and John Cochran, which will be followed by a discussion with the participants and active social media users from Macedonia.

Barbara Cochran is a professor at the University of Missouri, School of Journalism. She has spent her entire career in Washington D.C., and she has also been a president of RTDNA – Radio Television Digital News Association. Previously, Barbara Cochran served as managing editor of the Washington Star as well as a vice president for news for National Public Radio – NPR.

John Cochran is a retired network television correspondent , who has known all the Presidents from Dwight Eisenhower onward. He started working at ABC News in 1994 as a chief Capitol Hill correspondent. Prior working at ABC, he worked at NBC, covering the work of various administrations such as Reagan, George Bush Sr., Nixon, Ford and Carter.
