As part of the USAID Civic Engagement Project, the Metamorphosis Foundation conducted two-day online training to promote transparency and open data on local government units. The training was held on February 28 and March 1, 2022. The trainings were attended by representatives of 24 municipalities, representatives of partner civil society organizations, open data facilitators and other stakeholders.
The trainings aimed to increase the theoretical knowledge about transparency and openness, but also through concrete proposals for using tools for transparency, and discussion for sharing good practices, to enable the municipalities to act proactively in the field of openness.
During the two-day training, the participants had the opportunity to gain practical knowledge about using the tools for openness and transparency, to involve citizens in the decision-making process, to get acquainted with the concept of an open city, to gain knowledge about the concept and benefits of open data, as well as with practical knowledge of the process of publishing open data sets.
Within the USAID Civic Engagement Project, the Metamorphosis Foundation will provide direct support to participating municipalities over the next six weeks to enhance their openness.
