During the month of May 2014, the Metamorphosis team held a series of three trainings in cooperation with the Helsinki Committee of the Republic of Macedonia, which was attended by 15 activists, members and supporters of the LGBT community.

The trainings were conducted in the LGBTI support center in Skopje, in order to strengthen the capacities of the activists for exercising their right to freedom of speech for advocacy for human rights of this marginalized group. Through presentations, discussions and practical exercises, participants had the opportunity to learn about the following topics:

May 13: Introduction to online activism by creating e-content and photo-activism.

May 27: Methods of promotion through social media: Twitter and Facebook.

May 20: Multimedia – Basics of audio and video production and editing.

Participants were satisfied with the acquired knowledge, especially because of the need to reach out to the public with real stories as a means against the dehumanizing efforts against members of the LGBTI community. As part of the activities they were also involved in the efforts to combat hate speech in a wider context, by inclusion in the online community on the nemrazi.mk website.
