Call to the Institute of Macedonian language “Krste Misirkov” – Skopje on the occasion of publishing the Orthography of Macedonian language

The new Orthography of Macedonian language was promoted last week by the Institute of Macedonian language “Krste Misirkov” – Skopje, which is available for sale in printed version. Regarding the fact that it is a question of an educational resource made with public money, there is a solid foundation for this publication to be available in digital form, via Internet in a form of an open educational resource.

We call the Institute of Macedonian language “Krste Misirkov” to allow access to the Orthography in free digital form as an open educational resource for all citizens of Macedonia – who as tax payers have already paid for this work, and the people from the whole world who are interested in the orthography of the Macedonian language as well.

Open educational resources (OER), are educational resources and contents for a free usage. It is a word of free educational tools and can be used free of charge in educative and research objectives. Furthermore, OER are free for distribution based on previously defined author and proprietary rights which promote free distribution and allow multiplication of these tools.

The open education is a world movement that affects policies creating in the EU which have a goal to stimulate high-quality, innovative ways of learning and teaching via digital technologies and contents, with measures on an EU level and national level, for instance support for the teaching institutions, teachers and pupils of all ages in acquiring digital skills, with implementation of new learning methods.
