On April 7, 2023, in the premises of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, the first meeting of the working group for drafting the Transparency Strategy was held.
Representatives from stakeholders who act and can offer their expertise in the field of transparency and openness were invited to the meeting. In addition to representatives from civil society, representatives of several ministries and state authorities attended. Representatives of media associations, chambers of commerce and the interuniversity conference are part of the working group.
Metamorphosis Foundation in cooperation with the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of policies for good governance, actively participates in the process of preparing the Strategy and provides expert and financial support. The engaged experts, Irena Bojadzievska and Natalija Shikova, presented the work methodology of the working group, which was followed by the presentation of the work plan and discussion.
Metamorphosis Foundation followed the implementation of the action plan of the previous Transparency Strategy with an Action Plan (2019 – 2021) and prepared four monitoring reports that were submitted to the members of the working group.
The new strategy of transparency of the government with the action plan (2023-202) aims to continue the commitments from the previous Strategy but also to provide new guidelines and principles for improving the transparency of institutions. One of the set goals is a systemic change in the direction of good management and policy sustainability.
