The second meeting of the working group for the drafting of the Strategy for Transparency was held on April 13, 2023, in the premises of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The Metamorphosis Foundation actively cooperates with the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister responsible for good governance policies, and in the process of preparing the Transparency Strategy provides expert and financial assistance. The meeting was attended by engaged experts, Irena Bojaxhievska and Natalija Shikova, representatives of several ministries, state bodies, as well as representatives of media associations and civil society organizations.

The government’s new Transparency Strategy with Action Plan (2023-2026) should not only continue the commitments of the previous Strategy, but also provide new guidelines and principles for improving the transparency of institutions. By strengthening the transparency of the Government and the bodies, namely the institutions that answer to it, the trust of the citizens will increase and the level of democratization of the state will be raised. The new Transparency Strategy foresees easier access to services, but also strengthening the accountability of institutions.

Metamorphosis Foundation prepared four monitoring reports from the monitoring of the implementation of the action plan of the previous Transparency Strategy with Action Plan (2019 – 2021), and was part of the working group for the preparation of the first strategy.
