The Metamorphosis Foundation held the third Open Data Meetup in Skopje on April 15, 2015 as part of the “Open Data Civil Society Network” project. This time, more than 20 open data enthusiasts met in the “Cresha”coffee bar, where they had an opportunity to discuss and share their views and experiences related to open data. Participants shared excellent ideas during the 2-hour meetup.
The meetup was opened by Ms. Dona Djambaska from the Metamorphosis Foundation, a fellow of the School of Data and Open Knowledge Foundation 2014 Fellowship Programmme. During the last meetup participants agreed that they would like to learn more about the Freedom of Information Act, so they would be able to obtain various information. This is why this meetup was also attended by Nade Naumovska, who has extensive experience in this field. She shared the idea and the way the law works, as well as her experience so far and explained in detail to the participants how they can obtain the necessary information of public character.
Participants were familiarized with the www.slobodenpristap.mk website which can be of great help to them in the future, in various aspects of the process of obtaining information of public character. The project implemented by the Metamorphosis Foundation in cooperation with the Open Knowledge Foundation, and supported by the Foreign & Commonwealth Office is aimed at capacity building of the civil society organizations in order to promote an open agenda through the establishment of the School of Open Data – Macedonia.
