In the Holiday Inn hotel in Skopje yesterday Foundation Metamorphosis with the support of the OSCE Spillover Mission to Skopje organized the conference “e-Society.Mk”. Over 150 people attended the conference.
Foundation Metamorphosis, with the support of the OSCE Spillover Monitor Mission to Skopje, organises the conference “e-Macedonia.Mk”, aiming to transfer knowledge about several current information society issues. The Conference will take place on October 20, 2005 in the Holliday Inn Hotel in Skopje.
The translation marathon that started in the Foundation Metamorphosis’ premises in Skopje ended on Sunday afternoon after 56 hours. Almost 70 volunteers from all over Macedonia participated in the marathon organised by the Free Software Macedonia and the Foundation Metamorphosis.
On September 17, 2005 at 21 o’clock marathoners have reached half of the marathon trail – they have translated user interface for OpenOffice.org into Macedonian. Now, the last run remains – the Help file for the users. About 20% of the Help file is translated into Macedonian until now.
Today, at 18 o’clock the translation marathon organized by Free Software Macedonia and Foundation Metamorphosis for localization of OpenOffice.org in Macedonian has begun. The marathon takes place in the Foundation Metamorphosis’ premises on 16 computers. Free software fans, translators, proof-readers work together on translation. At the time when this article is published almost 40% of the software is translated from English into Macedonian.

The 15th annual ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) Conference on Computers, Freedom, and Privacy (CFP) will be held in Seattle, USA, April 12-15, 2005. This year's theme is Panopticon related to the surveillance of the citizens.
