The Dis-patch festival continues its cooperation with the world’s most successful company in the music software domain, Ableton from Berlin. Following the successful workshops and open competitions promoted in 2007 in Belgrade, Ableton Live comes to Macedonia through the cooperation with the first edition of the de:sonanz festival, the first relevant Macedonian festival event in the domain of modern electronic music.
The “Live” platform has officially been the most successful commercial music software for many years, as well as a complete platform for study work and live performances, and is steadily becoming a standard in the domain of studio music production, live performances and recording, DJ-ing, sound design and editing and much more. From year to year, Ableton is improving and expanding the range of additional applications, while the integration with max/MSP environment is eagerly expected, causing quite a revolution exactly in the moment when Ableton is officially presented in Skopje for the first time.
Workshop attendance is free, but the number of participants is limited. The workshop is intended for amateur users of the software, but we also want to help the more advanced users in the implementation of their complex ideas. All the participants will have an assignment to create a miniature track or sample, and the most successful ones will have a chance to win original versions of the software packages provided by Ableton.
At the end of the workshop, a presentation will be held on September 30 in the Film library of Macedonia.
de:sonanz is an international festival for electronic music, art and new media organized by the Goethe Institute Skopje Liaison Office in cooperation with local and regional partners within the frames of the German weeks 2009.
