Metamorphosis Foundation actively works to improve the transparency and accountability of institutions at the central and local level and as part of the USAID Civic Engagement Project, implements activities to enhance the openness of institutions through research, capacity development and tool development.

In cooperation with MISA, the Metamorphosis Foundation is planning a two-day open data workshop for civil servants. The training aims to prepare civil servants with tools and methods that serve to improve open data in their respective institutions.

The training will be conducted on June 23 and 24 in a hotel in Skopje.

The training covers the following topics:

  • General concepts of data and information, and defining the concept of open data;
  • Benefits of publishing open data;
  • Principles of open data;
  • Case studies of open data;
  • Basic technical aspects of open data;
  • Open data platform data.gov.mk;
  • Open data collection and filtering;
  • Open data visualization;
  • Open data research.

After completing the training, participants should:

  • Be familiar with the general concepts of data and information, and define the concept of open data;
  • Benefits of publishing open data;
  • Principles of open data;
  • Case studies of open data;
  • Basic technical aspects of open data;
  • Open data platform data.gov.mk;
  • Open data collection and filtering;
  • Open data visualization;
  • Open data research.

The training is for representatives of the ministries and their active organs within. Multiple participants from one institution can apply, but preference will be given to representatives of institutions that have not been part of the data opening process so far.
