On 7 July 2022, the fourth meeting of the Working Group for the preparation of a draft-law on the use of Public Sector Data was held. The working group is part of the activities that the Ministry of Information Society and Administration (MIOA) in cooperation with the Foundation for Internet and Society Metamorphosis, and within the framework of the USAID Civic Engagement Project, is implementing for the harmonization of the Law on the use of public sector data with the EU Directive on open data and re-use of public sector data (2019/1024).

The working group is composed of fifteen representatives of state institutions, the civil sector and the media, and made a significant contribution to the preparation of the assessment of the impact of the implementation of the current law (ex-post evaluation), assessment of the impact of the new legal solution (regulatory impact assessment), and preparation of the new draft Law.

The working group finalized the analysis of the Directive on open data and re-use of public sector data (2019-1024), as well as the Regulatory Impact Assessment of the implementation of the current Law and the accompanying Regulations. At yesterday’s meeting, Irena Bojadzievska presented the first version of the new legal solution.

The next meeting is scheduled for the end of July 2022.
