In September 10th 2014 at the GEM Club in Skopje, we were very pleased to welcome colleagues from Open Knowledge, Partnership for Open Data and the UK Embassy in Skopje for the launch of The Open Data Civil Society Network Project in Macedonia, with 26 participants from a wide variety of Macedonian CSOs and government institutes.
We were very pleased to welcome Charles Edmund Garrett, UK Ambassador to Macedonia, who gave the opening address.
After presenting more details of the collaboration between Open Knowledge and Metamorphosis, attendees were invited to discuss the challenges faced by CSOs, media and citizens when working with open data in Macedonia.
We also explored the concept of building an open data pipeline, and worked in teams to discuss the challenges, and explored solutions along the whole length of the pipeline.
The aim of the project implemented by Metamorphosis in collaboration with the Open Knowledge Foundation is improving the capacity of civil society organizations in order to promote an open agenda through the establishment of School of Data – Macedonia.
